The All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, is set to rake in N163 million from the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms to the aspirants jostling to fly its ticket in the November 16, 2013, governorship election in Anambra State.

Already, 14 governorship aspirants have collected the expression of interest form, paying N2 million each, totalling N28 million, barely three days after the party invited aspirants to declare interest in the race.

The nomination form costs N10 million for men and N5 million for women, respectively.

A member of the House of Representatives, Uche Ekwunife, is the only woman among the 14 aspirants expected to pick the form at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja today.

The sale of the expression of interest form was opened on July 29 and by the close of work on August 2, 2013, 14 people had taken the expression of interest forms.

Those who have taken the expression of interest forms and being expected to pick the nomination forms include former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Professor Charles Soludo, former Minister of State for Transportation, Chief Emeka Okechukwu, Mr Chinedu Idigo, Nnamdi Ekweogwu, Chief Tony Nnachetta and Mr. Emmanuel Nweke.

Others are Chukwuemeka Nwogbo, Chuma Nwosu, Mr. Oseloka Obaze, Chief Willie Obiano, Mr. Onochie Patrick, Dr. Chike Obidigbo and Chief Paul Odenigbo.

The party’s National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, who confirmed this development, noted that as a democratic party, all aspirants would be screened before facing the party’s primary.
